🇬🇧Smarties Cookies (English Version)

These delicious and mouth-watering smarties cookies are perfect to make with the little ones, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this is an ideal recipe for a snack, accompanied by a nice cup of milk.

250gr smarties
190gr self-raising flour
115gr unsalted butter at room temperature
100gr caster sugar
100gr brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1/2 teaspoon salt


Put the butter in a bowl and work it for 1 minute with the whisk, add the sugars (caster and brown sugar) and the vanilla essence, beat with the whisk for 2 minutes until you get a creamy mixture.

Now add the egg and mix until it is incorporated. Sieve the flour and salt, add them to the mixture, mix with a spatula and introduce the smarties and mix them with your hands not to break them.

Put the mixture in an airtight container and refrigerate for half an hour to work it better.

After this time, take the mixture and with the help of an ice-cream scoop (I sprayed it with release agent), form small balls and place them on a baking tray covered with paper. Separate the balls from each other as they will expand during cooking.
Bake in a pre-heated oven at 165° for 15 minutes. Once cooked, leave to cool on a wire rack.

Now they are ready to be enjoyed❤.


If you don’t have self-raising flour, you could use half a teaspoon of baking powder or half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda;

You can flavour with lemon zest instead of vanilla;

If you don’t have an electric whisk, you can simply use a rubber spatula to mix all the ingredients together;

If you don’t have an ice cream scoop, you can use a spoon to portion out the cookies.
